They recently finishing their record which they’re self releasing, and we spend the majority of the show getting into the ins and outs of that process. Aspiring producers should take notice, as you could learn a thing or two about how to stumble upon an awesome music career. We also talk about deodorant.

Todd Edwards and Goddollars

I sit down with legendary house producer Todd Edwards, and creator of the infamous party “A Club Called Rhonda,” Loren, aka Goddollars. We talk about Todd growing up in New Jersey and hear him break down how he made all of his first songs in high school, how his popularity grew in Europe, and remix rates back in the good old 90s. Todd and Loren have some touching moments, as Loren’s club was an integral part in getting Todd back in the music game, and moving out to LA. We end things by discussing how Loren’s dad was an early LA dance music DJ, and how it’s probably tough telling your parents you produce a Polysexual dance orgy for a living.

Matt Dillmore & Matt Alsberg of Pussyfoot

I sit down with two fellow “podcasters” and old friends of mine, Matt Dilmore and Matt Alsberg, creators of the show “Pussyfoot.” Not so much a podcast but something completely unique from anything else out there, more of a variety show than anything, or as they call it, a “Monthly Internet Radio Programme.” We get into their unconventional style of promotion, intentionally leaving their show off itunes and anywhere else a podcast can be found, only hosting episodes on their own vague and ungoogle-able website. Needless to say their strategy has worked, creating a worldwide cult following. A good portion of the show has Dilmore breaking down his current tussle with local NPR hosts poaching their topics, and we share stories about some of Pussyfoot’s more colorful characters.

Doorly and Nikki Jagerman

I sit down with London based Producer/DJ Doorly, and LA native Nikki Jagerman, who works at Deckstar, a DJ management company that manages yours truly, among many others. We chat about Doorly working closely with Usher as his DJ, and him handcrafting edits for his live shows across Europe, and Doorly’s longtime residency in Ibiza. Nikki and I both bond about broken ankles, and I learn the ins and outs of handicapped parking passes, Doorly and I bond on shared custody of little doggies after a breakup. We round things out with Doorly’s facebook hacker woes, and how Cee lo is a big/little round man who can be rolled around places.
